Em paralelo às atividades de assistência, o Dr. Luciano Furlanetti atua há aproximadamente 20 anos em pesquisa clínica e experimental, tendo trabalhado em grupos de pesquisa na Universidade de São Paulo (USP) durante a graduação e residência médica, e posteriormente nas Universidades de Freiburg e Saarland, na Alemanha, e no King’s College London.

O Dr Luciano concluiu o doutorado em medicina com a nota suma cum laude, na Universidade de Freiburg (2015), tendo sido reconhecido Doutor em Neurologia, pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) no ano seguinte. Atualmente, atua ativamente em ensino e pesquisa, como professor associado visitante do IoPPN, no King’s College de Londres.
